WETLAND CENTRE, 2018
This competition entry for visitor centre in Kent proposes circular pink rammed earth buildings, echoed in the winding landscaping. Articulated by meandering streams, the planting beds combine wildflowers, salvias, with grasses and birch trees. The rammed earth cylinders respond to Kent Wildlife Trust's desire for environmental and sustainability consideration, with its low embodied energy and high thermal mass.
